head design

Post by STRIDER »

Have you looked into Somender Singh's grove in the head design? He also is a proponent of gass miliage and fuel efficiency. He is also a supporter of the increased compression increased effeciency theory.

Short: Groove(s) in squish area, appear to be pointing at plug.

Has patents.

Observations: Appears to aim a slug of mix at the plug area near TDC.

Neat idea, on a true "squishie" motor, with the chamber over the ex valve only, the groove_s_ should likely point at the center of the ex valve, or could be configured to provide extra swirl.

I am curious if one could stick a ~10-12mm plug NEXT to the std plug location so it was in the "right place" in a T4 head.

Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

Funny that this post popped up again...

Over this past weekend Beth allowed me to convince that her engine/car needed a certain change....

Wait till you see what it is, but it won't be publicized until we are done with it! (too many Stromberg's out there!)

I read an article about him over a year ago. He struggled for years trying to get some recognition, support and a patent. I'm glad to see he suceeded. It was an interesting story...had a picture of the poor guy working barefoot in his garage, making something out of nothing. Ya can't help but admire him.

Jake, if you get a chance, follow that link and read a bit.

You have a brother of sorts in Mysore.

FWIW, I have OPENFOAM (CFD program) 1.2 working now, and will be trying to model the turbulence with and without Mr. Singhs "grooves", probably just modifying an existing model at first.

I just have to remember how to use Blender... It can generate files FOAM can import IIRC.

Waiting with bated breath for the latest upgrade ;-)

Ya know the deeper Beth gets into this stuff the longer the engine will take.

Hey Beth, have you ever thought about turbo charging? I mean while the engine is still being built and all.... :D
