I'm just a big fan of Bessey stuff. Pretty good quality tools and they're now selling Bessey at Home Depot.

I have always associated that type of clamp with wood working (prejudice I guess) and so I didn't even think about them for metal work.

There are a lot of things going on with the box stores lately. After a lot of looking around (years now), looking at new and used presses, I finally bought a drill press at HF and when down at Lowes a couple of days later I saw almost the same thing (but it looked a bit smaller) and (maybe) with a few less features (http://www.lowes.com/pd_78742-46069-PCB ... etInfo=The nice thing about the two is that they use Tee-nuts for clamping/holding things down while drilling which allows you to keep your food holders out of the way. Home Depot is carrying Jet now (or has been and I never noticed).

All the things in the stores look the same because they all come from same factory in CHINA... They just paint them different colors and put different logos on them...

Sadly true, Dale. I almost HATE to buy anything from HD anymore... so I just bypass them and go buy Chinese at the HF instead... Move up the alphabet a few letters from HD to HF. I usually turn the Machines around for a fair return after I get my use out of it... It's cheaper than renting that way, and there's less of a "time demand" on you as well.

If I ever run across a tool worth having (Soux power tools from way back, Rockwell stuff from way back, even older Delta and some old Craftsman and a few others)... I find a way to purchase it even if I have to put it on a credit card (Which I hate to do, but I also don't like letting that get outta hand, so I try and pay off whatever I have bought, before buying anything else).
