What gear ratio?

Good evening gents....I'm on my way back from a bad wreck....pt cruiser took out my rear pass quarter..but anway..original trans was a rancho built pro street plus and it worked great but I had close ratio 1st 2nd and stock 3rd 4th with 4.12 r/p ....in a 67 ghia with a 1.7ltr type4. Has roughly 75 - 80 hp. My question is for it to me around town friendly I'm going to a 3.88 r/p with stock 1st thru 3rd....was wondering if I had enough hp to run a 0.89 4th comfortably with 15 x 6 fuchs with 185 65's ?

I would have to say that the "freeway flyer" ratios will be sweet in your ghia, assuming you do a lot of highway.If you don't, you have more leeway with your ratio choices.

Thanks that's what I wanted to hear.....I've moved to the country so lots of 55-60 mph roads between farms......lots of twistys too.......so looking forward to getting her in motion out here !!!
