1986 010 jetta transmission
I have a dune buggy with a 1986 jetta 101 automatic transmission is there a quick fix for the manual lever to the kick down that might or do I really need it

Its not only a kick down---
That lever controls the governor, so the throttle must go through it in some fashion unless you want fixed shift points regardless of load.
Beats the hell out of a vacuum controlled governor.

Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.
