Hello,
i have a 091 gearbox code DK that i plan to fit on my karmann ghia using the nose conversion kit from Weddle industries. Those 091 gearboxes as far as i know are considered to be very tough and durable. My ghia uses an oxyboxer turbo EFI engine of around 280PS and 320Nm (street use only).
The DK gearbox has a 4.57 ring-pinion , 1st 3.78, 2nd 2.06, 3rd 1.26, 4th 0.82
My question: If we suppose that the gear ratios are suitable, could you tell me how much abuse those gearboxes can handle ?? Could i use it as is in stock form without major problems ???
Thank you in advance

I hesitate to guess at how you drive your car, but I will point out that the VW engineers went with stronger 3rd & 4th gears in the later waterboxer transaxles.
