Thing for parts Price: $950
Thing, NO TITLE.
Lets be honest here.
Ever taken on something that was a bit much, and realized you do not have the time?
I did.
I have a Thing (orange).
Lots and Lots of rust, bottom of the trunk, in the rockers, and around the edges of the gaping hole where the floor pan should be on the passenger side. Also, had an engine fire at some point.
No top, or even a frame for the top.
No front seats
But, it does have quite a few usable parts remaining.
Still has the 14" rims
Still has the Thing front beam and spindles.
Still has the Thing transaxle.
Still has the Windshield wiper motor.
Still has the rear seat backs.
3 of 4 of the fenders are actually steel, and do have a fiberglass unit for the driver's front.
Hood is remarkably dent and rust free.
All doors are present, and even an extra. None, however, are without tinworm.
Most of the rest of the sheetmetal is still there, and fairly straight.
Seriously, this Thing would be worth much more in parts than what I am asking, I just do not have time to take it apart, and Wifey is tired of the eyesore in the driveway, and reminds me of it often and increasingly loudly.
This Thing could save several Things, and then you would be a hero to the Thing owners everywhere.
Will trade full/partial for running engine (dual port) or a rebuilt IRS trans.

Lets make a deal.
BTW, all 4 tires are pre-vented to atmosphere (for your convenience), so, you will need some that do hold air on a wide 5 to return it to rolling status.

I'd buy it for the spindles and beam alone! But distance and overwhelming projects hold me back
