generator check - repair

Post by caslor »

hi
my brother has a 1200 beetle 63 model
it has problem with the battery..it is the second battery changed over a week and the car after some rides dont start... so i must be a charger problem....
as the battery is new,,,

it has a 12v battery so changed from 6 to 12 v

i havent check yet the generator or regulator to see where is the problem..(from haynes manual i have but says only for a 6 volt generator)

if it is an internal problem in generator can be fixed?

he went to a tech shop and they say that is the generator that dont charge and ask him 1000 euros (1,267.83 US Dollar ) to replace it.... ha ha is that amazing or not??
ha ha.. and if i buy a new one has almost 150 euros... ha ha ha

Can be repaired . You probably have some good motor
repair men there. Ask how much to repair or buy new.
