90 amp alternator problem solved

I've been having an issue with my alternator not charging. I don't know if I'm the only one but this was a pain in the a** ...anyway I'm over it now. This was my problem after finding out how the alternator works. The problem was it starts out working..... ALT light goes off and voltage goes to 14v then when I get down on the throttle, light come on. Now I'm working on battery only due to the alternator not charging. So on to the FIX. I added a diode (1N4001) in series with the regulator side of the alternator. PROBLEM SOLVED light never comes on after startup and the battery is now charging. Voltage shoots back up to 14 volts. Now I do the happy dance . I hope this helps someone else that is having a problem with the alternator not charging.
