The engine build alone on this car would cost $4000+, but is a great engine to turn the big tires and Bus gearbox. Much, much better than a common and cheaper alternative 1835 or 1776 engine with the longer stroke and a quality forged 4340 Chromoly, counterweighted crank.

Awesome, high level build from the 1980s. Body appears to me to be 1964, but titled as a 1963. Clear Colorado Title. Unlike a lot of ‘Bajas’ out there that are just front and rear fiberglass clips – this one was built from the ground up to be functional on and off road. It has seriously beefed up long travel suspension front and rear, a roll cage, 091 Bus transmission, brand new built engine, etc. Front beam is custom built, with long travel shock mounts (provision for two per side, just running one), front spindles are very reinforced, rear arms are custom boxed units with long travel shocks that go through the body and mount to roll cage – provision to add another one or two shocks per side! Polyurethane bushings all around. Center mount rack and pinion steering. Because of how it is mounted, it *does* have some bump steer – this is my first serious Baja, not sure if that just comes with the territory, or can be fixed by slightly relocating the rack. For daily duty, it would need a little more detail work, but the basis is all there and it runs and drives great.

The stroker engine is perfectly matched to the 091 box and larger tires – it is a much more expensive build than an 1835, but the longer stroke (and balanced and counterweighted chromoly crank) really pays off! Built with a NEW Factory AS21 case, new heads, new Scat 74mm crank, Pauter built rods, Norris cam, CIMA thick wall 88 pistons and cylinders, single hi-rev springs, pocket-ported heads, single Italian Weber 40IDF intake with true off-road air cleaner, etc.
Five point camlock harness belts. One piece front end with fuel tank fill through hole, beefed front firewall plate, Steering brakes, Parklok, one-piece door windows, door and quarter windows tinted glass (the glass, not a film tint), Roof scoop oil cooler, more.

I will take $4800 as it sits before going through more of it.

Lights need wired, connect oil cooler and remote filter, detail stuff like that. Then I will ask $5500. Willing to sell without engine for $3000.

[Partial trades considered – other VWs & old Audis – Rabbit/Scirocco/Jetta/Fox/4000 etc, Bus, Vanagon, Type 3, Type 4, etc. or Porsche parts & cars – Wheels, Carburetors (Weber/Zenith/Dellorto) steering wheels, Recaro seats, 924/944/914/912/911/928 – even consider motorcycles - just ask!]

Thanks - I agree. Just the wrong time to rely on buying and selling to pay the bills until the new company is up and running!
