Mini Cam Sync

Post by MarioVelotta »

I have been working on a small sized cam sync. I'm tired of trying to find good Vanagon hall based dizzys to modify and the CB VR based unit is just absurdly large. I haven't had them made yet but started getting pasts and doing some testing.

Here is what the assembled product will look like

Image

With all the part having to be drawn, you are able to explode the assembly to show the internals. I am making a couple of changes but this but it gives you an idea of what is going on.

I've already started to get some parts in :)

Like these tiny magnets to trigger the hall sensor. It's sooo small.

And finally this morning I started some preliminary testing of the parts. Can't wait until these can get put together!

That looks OUTSTANDING!! If you need a local motor to "test" this on, I'll have a fresh 2316cc type-4 that will need one in the next few months. . .

Thanks everyone :P :P

I hope to have more parts in soon and get some stuff machined soon after. I would think in the next few weeks I'll have something in hand. It's sure exciting to develop new products! Especially ones that fill such a large gap in our EFI community.

Are you considering a "sight window" for setting valves? I know Pile has mentioned wanting one on other posts.

Trying to make it up Sunday morning :)

Hadn't really considered anything like that. It would be easy to to watch for the trigger on the computer to know when it's at #1 TDC though.

Update:

Here is the new version body with a hex top and enough material to clear a billet hold down clamp.

The shafts have been made up and look great! Here they are in the drill jig.

And I have the PCB's done as well
