"...he doth protest too much, methinks..."
..and I was going to leave it be...
And please look up the definition of "slander" before making noise.
If it's "not a secret" how, exactly is is "slander"? (typing while ROTFL, cordless keyboards rock)
Also note The Truth is a perfect defense against "slander" in the US, anyway.
There's no "Order" (or even a PM expressing feeling slighted, which I might have considered) in my inbox, so I have no idea what you are talking about.
I certainly do not take orders from you, buckwheat.
BTW, Ever hear of the Streisand effect?
Heeeeeeeeere we go....

REDLINE WEBER, RE: IGN4 IGN-4a IGN4A IGN4a
It was "mythical" because ~no one (Including YOU) sold them online as IGN4As...
Of course ~none of your "resellers" actually sold them at all for some "mystery" reason, which is fully explained when I rattled the cage in the msextra thread, as I was curious and wanted to know how well they worked etc prior to buying some.
http://www.msextra.com/forums/viewtopic ... 01&t=54862
(more breadcrumbs)
It is "mythical" as it shares ~no design similarity with an IGN1 or IGN4.
It is not even close, so the "family similarity" is only in the MARKETING name.
(and you fully admit it)
I'm apparently far from the first to find this out, either, digging deeper this seems common knowledge in some online forums.
(no surprise as it is "not a secret" to those "in the know")
It was hidden from ME, and I was a potential customer, moron. Bad Move.
I hate "secrets" and stupid marketing shenanigans.
How, exactly does this "slander" you in any way?
Were you trying to trick people into thinking a VW 106B from the 2000 era New Beetle was a high end coil pack like a IGN1/IGN1a?
(Which are essentially Mercury GDi outboard parts, although you may have a run of custom versions, anyone want the Mercury part numbers? good low hour used ones sell all day long for ~$25-30)
(also note ASKING A QUESTION is not "slander" by definition, either.)
Give it a rest, the "myth" is busted. Sorry, I genuinely intended no offense.
But:
It's almost certainly a $40 coil pack. (and a very good one)
VW MSRP is only $200... http://www.parts.vw.com/vwparts/?search ... llCatalogs
..but what idiot buys parts from/at dealer prices??
The OEM part (same manufacturers) commonly sell for $42-65 all day long.
THAT is the "street price".
If anyone insists on buying the absolute latest rev from a VW DEALER it's currently $147

THIS IS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU...
If you have any evidence whatsoever that "your" "ign4a" units are not simply "106B"s here's the perfect place to show the world.
I'm sure many folks would be delighted to part with the extra $ if they are an enhanced version with easily documentable improved performance specs.
I'm not much into secret handshakes or "special" purchasing procedures, but here's your opportunity to prove me wrong.
I will be delighted and admit such if you can prove/document what you sell as IGN4a are not just (perhaps relabeled) VW 106Bs... and post specs AND testing results (which you must surely possess if true) showing the improved performance.
I'd even buy some, as that was the goal in the first place.
Ah, just read the rest of your hysterical rant, so I'll just find some 106Bs, as you admit I'm right.
The above is a reply to (just in case he realizes what he actually stepped in//accomplished and deletes his post, the last line contains useful info)
Redline Weber wrote:FIRST, I have NO idea why PILE"S statements of "mythical, etc" were NOT MODERATED by this forum.
HE has been ORDERED to STOP the slander.
NEXT, this coil IS a common OEM VW aftermarket coil, SOLD by WorldPac, the largest aftermarket parts distribution IN THE WORLD. (mythical?)
The VW dealer "list price" IS $362.00 USD, WP price of 165.00.
This coil we manufacture for WP has both the VW interchange number & my "street" name IGN-4A
Those who have bought this coil directly, at a better price, are given this type of information. (NO BIG SECRET)
I spend time here on this forum to help people, provide good quality products at a LOW price lower than the "normal" street price.
SO I ASK ALL here: Why should MY products receive "SLANDEROUS REMARKS" ?
My method for COP timing light attachment is to "add" a short plug wire between the coil and plug so as the clamp can be attached.
