In my distant memory, I thought MS2 had Knock sensing capability built in? Or at least free-ware add-able? Is that a word?
Either way, this looks like a great option for knock sensing with MS.

I have one of those knock modules. My turbo motor was 2 mechanically noisy to get the sensor and module to respond in any coherent manner. I moved the sensor several times. My final location was at the flywheel behind the shroud. But never got a chance to properly test it. I've heard that is a good place though.

Mario - was that an air cooled with solid lifters, or a wasserboxer with hydraulic? I know not night and day in terms of noise, but maybe, maybe quiet enough.
I Know on some I4 water-cooled VWs, an aluminum bushing in between the knock sensor and block were supposed to quiet some of the frequencies and make it less susceptible to erroneous knock triggers. http://techtonicstuning.com/main/index. ... cts_id=876
I also remember reading an SAE article a million years ago that the torque applied to the sensor had a great effect on the frequencies it picked up on (more torque, higher sensitivity, or vice versa or something like that). Just food for thought.
