I'm setting up MJ on an 82 vanagon with EDIS4. im not getting any RPMs showing up in MJ lite configurator software. I tried moving the VR sensor several times but it still stays at 0 rpms. checked all the connections and i tried looking at pip signal at the mj with an analog voltmeter. It looks like it's picking up a signal, but is the voltage too low for pip? ~5Volts:

Also, i'm using a small tooth trigger wheel. It's OK to use this from the side like this?
I have spark at the coil pack in limp home mode, etc. Thanks

Re: Megajolt not showing RPMs
Nevermind, I figured it out. I spun the trigger wheel on my drill and it shows RPMs. The pickup can ONLY be on the edge, not the flat side of the trigger wheel.

I'm no expert at all but I suspect if your wheel has square teeth, the VR sensor would have worked as originally mounted.

I think you're right, Mario and many others have had good luck with the square toothed ones. I did think it was a real possibility that the signal would be too muddy, but DIY's website didn't say anything about mounting and I thought if i caught the very outer edge that it would still be OK.

Re: Megajolt not showing RPMs
Cut a new wheel with square teeth, I've never before seen one with triangular teeth like that. Dealing with sync losses sucks so try to go with what is proven and works. Even if it works at low rpm in your drill that signal might look very different at 5000 rpm.
