best location of thew fuel pump

Changing fuel pumps from mechanical to electric. Where is the best location, under the tank, or in the engine bay?

Is this a swing axle car? Been tempted to use a 2 3/4 muffler clamp to build a bracket for a fuel pump that hangs off the rear torsion tube, that way it would be at a low point in the chassis and be somewhat easier to service than below the tank.

all the electric fuel pumps I've seen are push and not pull pumps. Meaning they should be located near the tank and not the engine bay. Also I'd be wary of mounting my fuel pump to the moving suspension components of my VW.

I have my facet fuel pump mounted in the engine bay , off the fan shroud with a custom bracket with vibration standoffs. it works great!

volksbugy they do work, but will burn out quicker than if they are pushing the fuel. It causes more stress on them that way. I'm sure yours has been in for 15 years and never had an issue as anyone else will say. Just letting you know the intended use of the electric pumps.
