Hello,
Just wondering about a good starting point for jetting my fairly stock 1.6 engine ( rebuilt, only modifications are 40's dellorto and 4-1 header & muffler). I got the carbs with 30mm venturis, but have changed them with 28s. I can obtain some different jets to set the carbs up properly, but would like to know your opinions on how to set a base jetting to start the motor first time.
Thank you!
regards,
Tine

Welcome to the forums,
The more info you can give about the engine and the car it is in the better chance you get or a reply.
Single or duals??
NA or turboed?
What exhaust do you have?
All this makes a difference....
What is the jetting in the carb or carbs right now.... You might be able to try it the way it is..

Hello,
It will be a dual setup, NA, Empi something exhaust. Just like this one:
Oh, and intake trumpets, should it make any difference.
This is the car the engine is going into, a '74 1303:

Good start (what you have is a jumble) would be ... 115 mains, 200 airs, .2 emulsion tubes, 55 idles. Trouble will be finding the emulsion tubes (they're becoming rare). Looks like you've cleaned them up. Make sure you have your floats set correctly (ask if you need more info) and limit your fuel pressure to between 2.5 and 3.0 psi. Let us know if you need more info.Tine wrote:135 mains, 205 air, .1 emulsions, 45 idles.
