You are usually far better off with an Airtex pump from ebay than a pump from a junkyard...
Esp due to the fact that the junkyard pump had probably been dry for awhile as junkyards drain or remove the fuel tanks.

Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

Junkyards are hit and miss, last week I went for the first time in more than a year, pulled a RBV ('86-87 ford 2.9l) based filter and high pressure pump. Judging by the quality and volume of gas I found when I cut the line at home I suspect it is in perfect shape. Alcohol kills over time.

Yeah some may call it overkill, but you can't have too much overkill.

That one won't work without machining the fuel rail to hold it on.
It is designed to mount right on a fuel rail that has an injector fitting on the end and bolt mounts for it.
A Stock German VW Beetle FI regulator will work.

I have had good luck, but know what to look for by now
(recent arrival etc, found one cherry looking Audi 4000S i wanted to take home as they unloaded it from the truck but they wouldn't sell it to me )

I know you suggested new, thats why i was looking for an Airtex pump on eBay like you suggested...unless that was sarcasam...and now I'm confused again . Ill just get a damn FI Beetle/Bus regulator and be done with it. No sarcasm here, I said "airtex pump" and you asked about an airtex regulator...
The Bosch regulators can be had for less that $100 if you look around, they are not sold for the original application, they make djet regulators with vacuum ports that are great general purpose adjustable regulators with a 1:1 rate on the vacuum input, or you can run as fixed pressure if NA.

Two questions from this: Does the single vac port on the regulator go straight to the TB?
What port does MegaSquirt get its boost reference from?

The answer to both latter questions is "to a manifold vacuum port".
The port on the TB is frequently ported manifold vacuum from a drilling just above the rising edge of the butterfly:
This is what you'd use for a vacuum advance can, but not a MS or FPR reference, as it's shuts off with the butterfly closed.
