Love the intakes. Just read that they were homemade. Just curious why you didn't go with an off the shelf part like the ones you made. I'm all for custom ........pretty much everything I have in my bus is always machined or welded/fabricated.

Several reasons actually.
It is true that the motorcycle throttles I choose are close to IDF spacing. They could have been adapted to regular intakes with some adapters and machine work.

But......

First the regular IDF intakes would take massive welding to add enough material to match port.

Second I could buy the "big beef" manifolds that have the material. Then do all the port grinding, adapter and machine work.

Third I did not see much effort difference in just making the correct fit manifolds from scratch.

Fourth I like for it to be different. I like the fact that with it all canted it is obviously not carbs as they do not match anything made.

Fifth It did make for a bit more leg room, but that was not terribly needed.

But yes. It could have been done differently. Before this rebuild it was a 2110 with 44's. Made from a few more "normal" parts.
