what size throttle body

Post by damo99 »

i am looking to do a single throttle body on my 2270cc type 4
it will have a plenum chamber on each side of the motor
(will have to work out volume of each chamber)
but i am not sure what size throttle body to run .
i was thinking either 50mm or maybe 60mm
or would a bigger one be better

Might look at something like a 2.5 liter JEEP TB... If its like my 4.0 liter JEEP FI system it has, TPS sensor, MAP sensor, IAP (fast idle air) valve all in simple TB and its around 60mm... And if you go to big you will have a throttle that is touchy at low end and then not gain very much as pedal goes further to floor...

Along the same lines as Dale suggested....pretty much all on one.....cold start valve on some, IAC and TPS.....look at the TB on Mercury Sable for 3.8L snd 3.8 DOHC.....mid 2000s and about 60mm as well. Ray
