I drilled the factory one out, don't go all the way to the end, you want to keep the contact tip intact and use a small hole on the side of the tip to finish the passage or you lose a few pounds of adjustment range.
The hole just has to get past the threads inside the body.

I used a Clippard 10/32 threaded fitting like this on the dumb end, has a 1/4" hose barb, you can get them with push lock quick disconnects in many sizes, brass, plastic or even SS, or just about any other thread/fitting combination imaginable.
Consider the useless rubber gasket to be brain damage and use a smear of anaerobic thread sealer instead.
(The nylon gaskets are ~OK, but use the thread sealer instead in any automotive app)

These work great fabbing a vacuum accumulator, a port on the manifold where you want it etc as well.

Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.
