Autotune and MS-II
Anyone using the Autotune in Megasquirt?
If so what is your EGO Control settings look like?
And what does your Automatic Mixture Control settings look like?
How can you tell if/when it's working?

I don't trust AT enough to use it, my suggestion is manual tuning. Letting a computer do the tuning makes you less of a tuner, and more of a co-pilot.

Well I don't know that manual tuning is best, but I know AT sucks.miniman82 wrote:I don't trust AT enough to use it, my suggestion is manual tuning. Letting a computer do the tuning makes you less of a tuner, and more of a co-pilot.
I've been using Tunerstudio, IMHO, by far the easiest and quickest way to get a good MS tune.

Have you used the new autotune in Tunerstudio?? It is far superior to any in the past. I have used it with great results. I even used it to tune my idle Just set your max cell change and percentage that you are comfortable with and let her go. It is nice to feel the differences while you are driving, either good or bad. Do a little adjustment to your AF targer table and drive again. With the ms3 it now tunes in tenths.Turbo_Manx_Maniac wrote:Well I don't know that manual tuning is best, but I know AT sucks.miniman82 wrote:I don't trust AT enough to use it, my suggestion is manual tuning. But Panel, the ego doesn't need to be on for it to work IIRC. Because I don't use EGO adjustments.

Re: Autotune and MS-II
I'm better being the co-pilot. It is so much easier to sit in a passenger seat and tune than to drive my own car and tune from data. With the new TS VE analyzer live is the best of both worlds. I can have it set to tune while driving look it over at the next stop and hit burn or keep it in live mode and feel for the changes and either accept or deny it.miniman82 wrote:I don't trust AT enough to use it, my suggestion is manual tuning. You really should give TS a try

I love Tuner studio.....don't get me wrong I've been using it probably since it came out. I just wanted some feedback on the Autotune. My laptop can't run the Java to make TS work so I have to save it and then use my PC on my network to then use the analysis.

Maybe I'll try it next time I tune an engine, right now I'm comfortable with reading the wideband and tweaking based on what it's telling me.

No, but I'm going to check it out on your recommendation. I use the feature where you play back a datalog and let it go to town based on an AFR table. TS is really amazing.
