Serial port trouble

Post by clintonddk »

OK, so I would like to program my new LC2 O2 controller. When I hook up the serial port to my computer then to the control I get an error that reads"no free ports" . I only have one serial port. Can anyone help?

Yes, standard 9 pin. I guess I had to close out of Tunerstudio and reboot in order to use the only serial port I had.

My laptop crashes every single time if I try to disconnect the cable before exiting out of TS.

Generally with only one physical serial port, if operating system "thinks" something is already connected to it,(and its not) it is either not going to let you have access to it, or its not going to work properly... Need to "release " port between applications... Do Google Search for "releasing com port"... Procedures may be dependent on what version of winders you are using...
