Photobucket Hot Link Fix (Browser Extension)

Post by Dale M. »

If you are using Chrome or Firefox browser there is "hot link" fix for Photobucket...

Get browser extension "Photobucket Hotlink Fix" offered by bridgetroll.io

Allows you to see photo's previously blocked images by Photobucket's new hot link policy (at least for now)...

That is awesome, Dale, many thanks.

I'm using Firefox, installed the extension at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... bucket-fix
and the previously-blocked Photobucket pictures now display at STF :D

I'd been working on downloading all of my Photobucket pics but encountered a glitch that prevents wholesale album downloads, so each photo has to be downloaded individually and reorganized into a local album structure. No telling how long this fix will work so I'd still like to retrieve them all but it's a daunting, time-consuming task... I wonder if this extension cures that problem too, will have to try again next time I'm feeling ambitious.

I ALWAYS keep a copy of my pics on backup hard drive.... Just don't trust the i-net for "photobucket" reasons.... Having same thoughts about cloud data storage, some day you may wake up and find no more 15Gigs of free storage... There are some awesome 4-6 Terabyte USB drives out there....

Yes, I've been looking at those. I "only" have around 15TB of storage space on the PCs and external drives in the house now, expect there'll be some deals too good to pass up by Cyber Monday. Then I can get on with my project.

If you're running Firefox as your browser and haven't updated to the latest version (57.0 A.K.A. "Quantum") yet, you may want to hold off until you've verified that any add-ons you're using were designed under the "WebExtensions" API - if not they'll be disabled on v57.

The Photobucket hot link fix from Mozilla.org IS compatible and will work fine.
