avatar pic trouble

I cannot get the avater loaded. I have copied an existing pic to use from this site but a error message shows up as not a gif or size. I copied it from my hard drive and pasted to the site. Whats up?

You mean you downloaded a pic from this site and want to use as an avatar. I see you tried to insert an image.....maybe thats what you want to do?

I dont quite understand what your trying to do. could you please try to explain again.

need directions on loading a small gif as a avatar Picture.I tried to copy and paste from my harddrive and it gave me a werror message as not a gif or too large. I checked my properties of my picture and it is a gif and sized correctly.

I cannot insert pictures to my messages also.
