Many thanks to all for hanging on so long. And my apologies for the outage. Sometimes just keeping on the air is just not that easy. But things are really improving with much more to come. We will be finalizing the base software before moving on to the bells and whistles, but many of STF's ongoing issues will be behind us over the next weeks and months. I can't wait to get the STF theme and look back, but it will take a little time to get straight. Just keep tuned in and watch the changes. I know you will like them.

What you don't see, behind the scenes, is the huge improvement that has already been made. STF has changed servers which should lead to first rate speed and basically no memory limit - home run! Most important to me is that for the first time in a very long time, STF data will be backed up every 24 hours. This means we will never loose what the members have built over the last 12 years. Even if the site is hacked or the servers crash or whatever, we'll be able to come back. This has cost me some sleep over the years and now is fixed!! Finally, we can expect that STF will keep pace with the mobile devices that everybody is using. Bear with us as these changes are made.

Again, thanks to STF members who have always made this site what it is.

Most of the uploaded pics were initially MIA, but most of a random few I just checked I uploaded are now all showing up as clickable attachments, rather than inline as posted, but at least still present.

Working on pic links, trying to get back to normal and implement new, auto sizing system. Just stand by.

Thousands of pics have been posted here. Veterans will recall that for most of STF's life, pics had to be posted to a 3rd party server, like photobucket, then linked in to STF. Those pics are available only if they are still hosted on the 3rd party. Later in life, STF is able to host it's own pics. These pics are all still on the STF server and we will try to find a way to bring them back as they were initially posted, inline or links.

I have faith that we will get there, given some time.

Glad STF is back.

Last night when I was on STF, there was no means for me to log in, so I posted the above as a guest. Just now, the next afternoon, the log-in page was the 1st that presented to me. Just want to let you know about that issue.

I am indeed happy that STF is back and everybody is healthy. That it was issues related to the server and forum carrier that had the site down for so long.

When you get around to configuring the mobile parameters, I hope you can set "mobile" up as optional. Some sites try to detect the device and then force the mobile page out regardless of user preference. Well, Firefox on Android does a nice desktop emulation and I prefer that. Facebook is an example of a terrible mobile web interface. I suppose that's because they want me to give up and use their App. No way.

Thanks for the forum, it has always been well organized and moderated in my opinion.

Thanks for the feedback. We are currently running several diagnostic sessions on it and will be planning another few outages over the next week to get the images back up and working as well as a few of the other issues that have been reported. Most of these will be minor and most probably will not even notice.

As the previous version of STF was so old there was a lot of compatibility issues to be address as well as significant amount of security issues.

As the first and most important thing is the data and information that is where we have been focusing our efforts. Now that we are almost happy with the cleanliness and safety of the data we will begin to focus on my user friendly features such as images, taptalk, etc etc.

Is there a new setting to set for topic notifications? I used to get an email when someone replied in i topic i started or one i replied in.

Now i only see replies after i logged in and clicked the bell sign.

Also i find it hard to see which ones are the sticky topic that always stay on top of the page.
