hrtburn,

The 7" wheels should be fine under the stock fenders as long as you have the factory 66 short swing axles. The car with the red wheels looks like a 65 or 66 so that's how yours is likely going to look. You might want to raise yours up a little if spending $ on white walls so they don't get worn in the inside entirely. The size for a 7" is between a 215 and a 225. Check out Diamond back tires @ http://www.widewhitewalltires.com/catalog.htm for sizes and different wall colors and widths.

Post back and let us all know how it goes,
Rick.

I have these wheels as a backup idea if my current idea dont look right.Would the 15x7's need a 2" wider fender to cover them with like 225/50/15's (random tire size) lol

No you should not need them, and I think the 225's would bulge out of the wheels giving them a fatter look but it would limit how much you can lower the car if you have a swing axle setup.

In this case you will, having irs is like having long axles. sorry 'bout that, thought yours was a swing axle too.

So your saying I would need wider fenders? How much do you think they would stick out, maybe a inch?

Hi there! Sorry about re opening this discussion but I would just like to know if what you did possible with a 70 beetle? Im looking to slam it and put it on deep dish alloys like yours! I would like to go as deep as possible WITHOUT getting new rear wings! If you could give me as much advise as possible on this I would greatly appreciate it! Nice job on your car btw!
