Kerscher fender help

Post by SuperRSi »

I am going to use rear 944T trailing arms with GT3 11 inch wheels and need to talk with someone about their Kerscher fenders. If you actually have some, I would like to get some measurements to help me with sizing. I do not have rear fenders anymore so need measurements. I can figure it out from there.

Thanks

Santa Fe, New Mexico
I will use a tape measure from the frame to the outside of the tire and this is what I would like to compare with those that actually have Kerscher fenders installed. Will post a photo this week.

Thanks

I'm guessing you're doing Kerscher for the flared edge fenders? If you're just doing wider and not flared then Creative Car Craft is a better bet. The fitment is excellent, and while the quality seems to have dropped since the sale, is still very good and they have different widths. Don't be afraid of a little fiberglass work to get what you want too, as any of them will need to have some bodywork to be very smooth.

So the extra shipping is worth it to buy Kerschers?

Where are you SuperRSI?

It must be worth it to me because I did it, cannot say for someone else.

Obviously, but why, what does Kerscher have going for it and what did you end up spending a fender? I may have to go wider than CCC offers, wondering about Kerschers sizes as well. Do they have a standard lip as well as a flared lip?

In my case I wanted the Kaefer flares on the fenders. I have looked at several others including purchased CCC fenders in the past. I tried ordering Remmele fenders several times and after this last time just gave up and ordered the Kerscher fenders. I have always had luck with Kerscher and just went with them. I will keep you posted once I get them and check them out. My problem for the moment is United Airlines lost the paperwork and they cannot be cleared through customs!

I think the flares make it look like a 1980s metal flake wide body job. Let us know how it works out.
Why so wide on the wheels?

Steve it will be basalt black which is metallic, maybe that's why the fenders appeal to me!? Memo to self : add bigger metalflake...
Why the wide wheels? Because I like GT3 wheels and that is how wide they are. I have a race car so I don't really car if I can get them to temp on a cold day on this street car.
The pictures pop right up on Germanlook.net not sure what is happening here.
