This build should be put on a sticky. Great work and thorough planning. An amazing build. Great job!
Jason
PS. now how about a smoky burnout pic!!! Or maybe a pic of it smoking one of those awesome Aussie V8 cars we don't get over here!

poop Das,is that the same car? I can't believe how much more awesome it is in that pic. He has got it just right with the light- thats truly amazing. How did you go-get a trophy? Volkdent-what sort of cars do you get over there for the Rev Heads.Do you have a car with a decent V8 and rear wheel drive? I have just bought a new Ford Ute(based on our 4 door sedan) with a quad cam V8,4 valves per cylinder with variable cam timing mated to a 4 speed auto and solid rear axle. The engine develops about 350H.P. Do you have anything like that available?

Thanks guys - will have to ensure the gearbox and engine are run in a little better before attempting any burnouts!!
As is the case with most car enthusiasts, the never ending quest for more power will probably result in some more work to the type IV at some stage. The near stock cam grind, rockers and ports all restrict its potential at the moment. I can't afford to split the block again just yet - maybe next year!
Gary, I managed to pick up the award for "old school pre 1966" which was cool

NBturbo, your choices currently for affordable muscle car V8 power are limited to the Pontiac GTO(your Holden Monaro I think), and the Mustang GT. Other relatively inexpensive non-muscle car V8s are the Dodge Magnum RT, 300C, and a couple of other sedans. Otherwise your looking at big buck Audis, BMWs, and Mercedes with V8s.

Sorry Alan for using your post -interesting to find out what our Brothers across the pond can get their hands on.Looks like we are getting a better range of cars here though. The BMW's and Mercs sell well here, but the big attraction is the Ford/Holden based Muscle cars.We have a V8 Supercar race season here with the Ford and Holden factories sort of sponsoring their own teams, with many private teams running 2 cars and other companies that specialise in components -some do only the motors and sell them on,some do chassis tuning and so on.The cars are loosely based on the muscle cars that can be purchased thru the Dealers but are very heavily regulated by Avesco( the governing body)to give an even playing field. As in all production type motor sport, the advances made on the circuit filter to the production line.I don't follow what is happening with Holdens, but Ford have the XR range of 6 and 8 cyl cars and utes(the 6 is an inline 4.0 lt with dual overhead cams,4 valves/cyl and VCT and about 250HP) the GT in a 4 door car with all the goodies-big 4pot brakes- 19'' wheels, all the stripes and spoilers and about 400HP quad OHC, 4 valves/cyl and VCT V8. The ute has a Pursuit with all the same goodies and special stripes and a hard cover with rear spoiler. There is an offshoot company from Ford-FPV (Ford Performance Vehicles) and you can order a new car thru them that is road legal, that has even more performance mods, and is almost be ready for circuit racing.

Oh yeah, here is a link to a movie of the first run on the day of fire up (dial up users beware) - I will get some clearer vids/sound some time soon. Just click on the movie camera icon thingy.

Thanks Jason!
Well I finally shot a couple coats of high build primer this arvo on the amplifier cover/rack. Overall pretty happy with the prep - only a couple of areas that will need a bit of glaze putty. Took ages to sand between the ribs on the hinged cover piece - pain in the ar$e but should be worth it once it is finally finished!
