I just don't want to get compression so high I will only be able to run 5 psi of boost

Will be lazy off boost then...

Better a little more like clone says and fab in an intercooler or watermeth injection...
Better to be blown than to suck!

I would only be able to that if I go through with the blow through conversion.

We've all said that...
Now I'm gonna see if I can't get my little engine up to about triple that...
Its a slippery slope.

Haha!
Speaking of slipper slope.... I called Tim's today and to get my chamber volume where I need it I would have to get them ported. $670 for the pair. Owch. What other option so I have? Overtly large deck height? Find a stockish head closer to the cc I need? I'm going to use 92mm bore.

Wait! I miscalculated. The chambers on the Tim's heads are 57cc as cast. That would put me right at 8:1 compression with. 048 combustion chamber. That's better. They are $207 and I think another $20 to open them up to fit the 92 barrel each.

You seem really stuck on that .048 deck height. Is that what you currently have or something?

No it's just kind of a middle ground.
Everything I've read says a tight deck is better.

Its mostly about clean burn, cool running and efficiency. Red Baron doesn't care about fuel mileage, or cool running.

My guy checked out the case and it is good to go without a line bore. So I guess I will order my pistons today. Really been struggling with what pistons to buy. AA are obviously quite a bit cheaper but everything says to get Mahle. Clone is having good luck with his but can I get a tune as spot on as him with a carb?? Maybe if I keep boost low until I get a better ignition system I will be ok.
I think I'm going to get a W100 cam ground on 112 lobes and maybe spring for some solid rocker shafts too. Maybe!

.120 and your still at 8.5:1?? Dang!
I think having the engine hanging way out in open air helps us keep things a bit cooler.
I've been doing some searching and reading and came across this from here last night. Thought it was interesting. viewtopic.php?t=102753
