Engle FK8 cam...opinions
I just bought the makings of a 2276 or a guy that bailed on his project and it came with an engle FK8 cam.
Anyone running one of these on the street?
What is the power range?
This motor is going in a street car that will see track action at least once a month.
Should I keep this cam or sell it and buy a Engle FK89 which I originally intended to use?

Street Cam
You would be doing yourself a favor to stay with the FK8 rather than going with the FK89(race only) cam. The FK8 would be a very streetable cam with 1.4 or 1.5 ratio rockers and still allow some track time opportunities if the rest of the engine/transmission combination is set-up properly.

I have heard nothing but good things about the FK-8. Im buying parts right now for a 2332. And originally I was going to go with the FK-8. But now as I have decided to really get serious about drag racing I am going with FK-89. I will be putting the Fk-8 in the next motor for my street car. Probly a 1915.

The K8 is a good street car, pump gas cam, good power from idle till around 6500 to 7000 rpms. You will be very happy with it.
The fk 89, is intended for drag racing, high compression engines. Yeah you might hear people rant and rave, I have a 89 in my street car and drive it, and I am sure they do. The power band comes on at 5k and stops at were the valves float, on top of lossing cylinder pressure on the lower rpms, and giving up the life of cam.
Good Luck.

The FK-8 is a good versital cam. I ran it with NOS on an 1835cc and got a best of 7.24@96mph in the 1/8th. The same motor now has a turbo on it and is in the SSG. Not an all out race cam but for a daily driver it will work great. I'm using an FK-45 on a 112 lobe for the turbo/NOS motor in MT, haven't fired it yet but I will be soon. I liked the 45 for the lower duration and more lift then the FK-10 I was going to originally use.
