DTM #109 ..wow..
Yep, for everyoen out there who's ever been on the fence about the DTM...thinking "maybe I should...but...kinda pricey.."
Step up. It's pretty amazing. It's not your average aftermarket solution to a better (<--thats opinion! I mean "alternative") engine in a VW / Porsche.
LOTS of thought went into the little bits- which is apparent when you start looking closely.
Friggen' cool.
It's christmas in Washington!
Looks pretty straightforward too- the only mystery to me was teh dipstick, but I think that's addressed in the VIDEO Jake throws in because he's nice..or somewhere in the instructions I need to sit down and read.
Jake, if you need another compliment- Good Job!
I'm stoked to represent!

Thanks Bob! Glad you like the kit.
Since you have a 912E engine the dipstick is simple since its already in the engine case, unlike a bus...
You'll simply need to slightly bend the dipstick tube to clear the alternator and thats it!
There is a ton that goes into a DTM and right now with one of our molds still down its taking longer than we would like to deliver shrouds that have been ordered for as much as 7 weeks and for that I apologize to all.
Due to a price increase in the fiberglass materials and escolating costs to keep our molds in shape expect a DTM price increase on June 1st- This could be as much as 10% on the TIV kit.

Yep!
Pretty cool setup! Hey...was I supposed to get oil-hoses too?
I didn't read the description...I can get that stuff if needed, but whats the PSI rating for that? so the parts guy doesn't sell me some cheap junk.

picture linking isn't woking..?

Wait untill you get it on your engine! I'm very impressed with the fit on mine. The sealing tin is nice to work with too. The aluminum cuts easily with good snips and cleans up well with a medium tooth file. Yet it is thick ennough that is doesn't distort much when working with it. When you drill holes in it have 2 drills, one with a deburring bit for cleaning the edges. It s faster than filing by hand.
Since I am not liable for blown hoses, I think you will be fine with any hose that is rated for 300* oil and a 200 pressure rating will be fine. Real hydraulic hose is pretty dang stiff and rated at over 2000 lbs.

914 Ghost...
DO NOT use that upper alternator pulley!
It is from a 356/912 engine and will send the cooling fan super sonic with the lower pulley that comes with the DTM. This will probably explode the cooling fan and wipe out the entire top end of the engine and shroud as it is very violent when it happens.
Use a stock Type I alternator pulley!
