top end????? hmmmmm
To be honest when I built the 2,4ltr back in Germany I made it to be an Autobahn runner.
It would take 7k RPM shifts and not miss a beat, the fastest I have had it to was 120mph on the back roads of Germany, it still had more to give but I didnt want to push my luck with the police so I didnt stay out long.
I still have a lot to learn about these type 4's though.

Coilpvers
Hi Again, 1970Ghia!
It looks like you have converted to coilovers and done away with the rear torsion bars. I see the coilovers clearly, but can't quite see the spring plate pivot.
It appears your coilovers mount to the stock trailing arm brackets, unless you've done some reinforcement. Without torsion bars, I've wondered if the stock brackets would hold tp to the load.

Hi again,
Yeah I did away with the stock set up and went with the coil overs, They are from MBT in Germany.
The set-up is real good for the noraml guy but they do say that if you are going to raod race, then you need to have the 6 point brace rather than the 4 point like I have.
The 6 point has 4 mounts on the tranny forks (2 in front 2 in the rear ) and the 2 at the shock tower upper mounts.
I do use the stock shock mounts on the trail arms, I'll see if I can get you a better pic or two.
Talk to you soon.
