Which turbo?????
I need a little help......2165 stroker with fuel injection.....only looking for 5-6lbs boost......T4? Vband(whatever that means) A/R Ratio(whatever that means too) good generalized turbo for best lower rpm performance.....I don't plan on spinning this stroker to death. I see lots of great deals on turbo's out there, but don't want to buy the wrong one. Appreciate any input for a turbo newbie

V-band is the way some turbo downpipes are attached, like so:
Think of it like a quick disconnect for large tubes. Simply loosen the clamp, and the pipe comes off. Here's a primer on turbos: http://www.moddedmustangs.com/forums/po ... -trim.html
I'll sell anything for the right price...

I say a t3 would work just fine. I like my t3/t4 better. I don't know why it worked better for me. I have to ask, have you ever drove the bug or a bug with turbo? if so have you been higher than 6 lbs? I remember when it was at 6 lbs. I almost felt the power.. It sucked but 8 was great and 10 was better. 12 was the magic number for the lowest boost I will use.. The reason I bring this up is are you strong enough to not use more boost? Either way the t3 will work fine. I felt it was chocking on my 2006 and the charge temps were higher. When I went to a larger turbo on the cold side it felt better and unrestricted.

Thanks for the info guys.....nope.....never drove a turbo'ed bug(or any vw for that matter)....engine has 9/1 compression, new mag case, 4340 forged crank/rods/pistons/pushrods/solid rockers and mini dport heads. Just wanted to keep boost lower for added engine life.
So what does A/R .60....43...ect ect mean

9:1 is to high of compression for your application you will likely be stuck at 8lbs of boost or less. Also is this motor set up for turbo? What cam did they install?

Originally.....I just want to compinsate for the 4000+ft elevation I live at, not really looking to "Huff" this engine real hard. Shaq....cam is an engle w120....builder said it will work fine for low boost applications. Like I stated before.......only looking to run 5-6lbs of boost, if I decide to run a tad more I'll lower compression a bit, and consider a different cam grind.
