505,

Try David Buchhauser in Arizona. Check out his photo page at the link below.....lots of very interesting pictures. He's a good guy, and has the stuff you need.

505,

I spoke with Hobert Kennedy (The senior of Kennedy Eng'g) a couple of weeks ago. His suggestion was a Nissan 300zx motor in the 914. Excellent motor, better suited to the stock 914 gearing, and just about 200HP. Of course they manufacture the appropriate adapters, flywheels, etc. Also, do a search on the net, as there is a site I've seen showing the installation process.

If you have to go watercooled, why not a Suby flat 6 turbo? Better weight balance...

If you’re going Cheby, the 6 and the 8 cost about the same, so why would you do a 6.
I’ve seen the suby 6, looks cool.
One guy on Pelican was talking about doing a Ford SHO 6 (designed by Yamaha) I don’t know if he did it.

Renegade says that all said and done (with a new kit, new etc.) it will cost sump-tin like 7 large for a V8. ouch

Take a look at Renegades Suby WRX kit. 265 hp 215 tq you can get the motor off of ebay with the ecu for around $2000. I have driven this car, and am in the process of doing my conversion. It is fast as hell, 35 mpg and subie reliable

Renegade is my personal favorite. But there are other sources for V8 conversions. Here are some links...
