Exhaust testing starts today!

Post by MASSIVE TYPE IV »

Thats right...

We ended up being down for parts on a couple of builds today and through the end of the week due to waiting on some parts to get "Frozen"..

Brent and I decided tto pop the 2270 on the dyno and start the testing..

Should be finished by weeks end if we don't explode something..

First up is the A-1 so I can get it back to Tiger and he can get them all Jigged up and ready to be sold.

Get ready for a mass purchase on Feb 1!!!!!!

Like we talked on the phone the other night, count me in on the A-1 header. I can't wait to see how it does against the BAS, Turbo Thomas and whatever else you test. :-)

Sweet!
I called Tiger and confirmed prices on the arrangements that I plan to offer.

Custom units would have to be bought from him unless I'm building your engine..

The choices will be broad enough- trust me..

Great news Jake, that would give me enough time to mod the rear apron and bumper on the Splitwindow Bus if needed. Also mod the rear mustache bar if needed.

Thanks for the news

Hey Jake, don't forget, I need a temp reading of the gasses exiting the pipe outside on a high rpm pull.

It normally takes 2 - 4 weeks for him to get around it, unless you make a specific deal that it needs to be faster than that.
I´m quite curius too on the exhaust comparison..

The engine had a couple of issues....

Shall we say LIFTERS! Didn't even make it through the first run before the chip detector in the main lube line lit up. Obviously my idea for this set of lifters wasn't a success..

I was trying to run a new lifter test at the same time as the exhaust tests, then pull it down afterward and see what was going on..

Its apart on the bench now, will be running again tomorrow morning with another set of lifters...

I will have all the tests with the A-1 done tomorrow, and possibly Turbo Thomas as well....

Chip detector?
Sounds like an ingenoius idea. Is it simply a magnet with a surface and two "electrodes" (or whatever it is called in english) that when covered by magnetic particles triggers a warning light? Or something more advanced?

Is it available commercially? If yes, were from?

Its an aircraft part.

I came into contact with them working on Helicopters. We used them in the transmissions to detect gears/bearings starting to go bad. I plan on stocking them soon.

It is a very simple part that works exactly as you explain. This particular one provides a ground when the contacts are bridged by metallic particles that stick to it.

If you start selling, you can put me up as first on the list.
I think you will sell many.
