Super clean build-up there!
Very well thought over and very nice quality parts used as far as I could see/read: me like
Any preliminary thoughts as to how you will position the turbo all assorted intake stuff with regard to the flat/low type 3 deck?
Thanks,
Walter

Cheers Walter, thanks for the kind comments.
The engine will be above the engine hatch. This whole project came about due to me buying some secondhand scratch built manifolds that were once used on a Type 4 turbo'd drag racer here in the UK. The manifolds are quite large so even from the early stages of the project I kinda knew it would be above the engine hatch in my Fastback
Added to this I'll be running a Porsche style fan as this seemed to be the only cooling kit that would work with my manifolds. The manifolds meant i couldn't run a Cali conversion or the CSP Type 1 conversion and the DTM wasn't available at the time (Joe had passed away and Jake didn't have the design rights at the time).
CSP Type 1 mock up (fan shroud wouldn't fit):
Tall Willibald Tuning fanshoud (that sits higher due to no case machining):
In the end I settled for a Stateside Tuning Porsche style shroud that sits lower with the case machined:
Here's a close up of the manifolds:
I did look at other peoples turbo Type 3 projects that fitted under the hatch though (albeit Type 1's with carbs):
That engine will rock !
looks super
this gives me some more motivation to continue my engine build
(i just bought a new house so i will have to do some priorites here
Please keep the pics comming.. verry clean working!

Cheers racelook, will do.

Keep up the great work. I'm working on something similar so I will be following yours and Jonas L's threads closely.
Hi Sandeep,
I remember your engine from your buildup thread. i remember looking at your Fat Performance shroud for reference. Good to hear that your going turbo. Keep us updated!

No problem vw_nobbe, glad it helped... and Jonas's thread gave me the inspiration to get back out to the garage.

Stick with it, it'll be worth it!

What have you done to get everything so clean??
Well, the case, cam, cam gear and headstuds are all new. Crank was cleaned by me although Stateside Tuning also cleaned it, the rods were shot peened by them also. So on my side very little!

Cool! Looking good.. I am being overtaken..
Hi Chris, not yet! Still plenty to do. I check your website from time to time to see how you're getting on. My site is in desperate need of an overhaul! Anyway, hope you're keeping well.
Should have some more pics on the weekend of parts ready for the top end and exhaust etc.
