I just found this site and am always looking for help. I have a 1977 bus that has not urn in about 10 years. Got it to start this summer, lots of smoke ( now maned Smokey). Now it will not start again. I know the #1 valve is not good, both I and E. Others have been set to .006. The #2 spark plug is wallowed out. I am not a very good mechanic- so needing advice. I have all the books, but putting the information in to action is another story.

Yikes, that is a rough first car to a start with. I would watch Jakes/Bug-Me video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-OOwrsOmXJc on tear down and rebuild to get a feel of how one of those engines are put together.
Once threads on the head wallow out, a time sert is possible, better replace both heads.

Yeah some may call it overkill, but you can't have too much overkill.
