I just looked at several logs and find that I was idling from 950-1300 RPMs. Unfortunately the type-3 TB badly needs to be rebushed and is kind of erratic.

My logs are from 2016 and the engine is waiting for its new host (a 1967 Fastback) to be ready so I can't do any new testing until sometime this summer.

See attached log. There's a nice example from around 48 to 60 seconds and another starting at 386 seconds.

I am surprised at the low MAP values that this data log shows. I'd be interested to see your tune (V.E. & Timing Maps), that go along with this data log.

One thing that I can say that I've got is a steady idle. (900 RPM) Should I be shooting for lower?

I don't like an idle lower than 900. It just doesn't seem right. Especially on take off.
I usually keep mine right around 900-1000 rpm and that keeps the oil pressure high enough on hot days. I will sometimes bump it up to 1100 rpm when I travel long distances because idle will show a fairly low oil pressure when hot.
