Rear suspension travel, arc or not....
I've a '63 ragtop Baja. Still have the rascal, but that's fizzled down for now...anyway. The question I have is this: when I convert it to IRS should I keep factory geometry, or make the arms swing straight up and down? The car will have 3x3s 930 cv's and coilovers. Heim joints will take the place of the rear torsion spring.. when they build sand cars with rear be like suspension, they often have the rear arms swing straight up and down. Where as when VW folk convert to IRS they keep factory travel. Opinions please. And I bought the car as a Baja, didn't build it only trying to make it more agile. It had a front end impact in the past and I think that's when it was Baja'd.

This is Central Washington Baja's (CWB) His build (153 pages) is a long build but you can see it morph from what it was to this. You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

I found the answer. It's subjective to use. Both have pros and cons, the factory suspension is probably best for my needs.

If you do not have your arms yet then look into having Dave Brown in Oregon build you a set. He can work with the stock pivots and still get it a little more user friendly by modifying the inner pivot of the arm to have better camber at ride height. That and you will have a hard time finding a more reasonably priced set of custom arms of that quality
It is not Mickey Moused.....It's Desert Engineered!

Dave Brown is one the builders that a lot of the guys I know go to although lately there is another guy but I don't know his name. I have a pix of what I think you are planning but can't find it right now.
Where is it you are planning on riding when off-road?
