Yeah, I too noticed the line is still climbing... but got scared running more rpm with this boost and 'just' dual VW-GeneBerg springs...

Probably smart! At least you know there is more to be had when the time comes! Very nice numbers btw. Do you have some engine specs posted on her already?

Thanks!
Yeah, your right, it isn't very nice of me to just state the results and not give any specs.. :oops:

- Basically its 2200cc and just a stock type 4 case, stock 66mm (1700) crank and rods and stock 914 2.0 head castings with with bigger valves 46x40, dual Berg springs, Ti retainers.
- Piston/cylinders are not standard though: 103mm mahle/(Okrasa) alu-nikasil cylinders, JE pistons.
- Stock bus 2 ltr flywheel 228mm, KEP disk semi-metallic, spring center, Sachs HD pp.
- Dry-sump oiling and porsche turbo oil squirters.
- Web 163 on 114LC, 8,3:1 CR
- equal length SS header.

- DTA S60pro ecu and J&S Vampire knock control;
- Garrett 3076R turbo (Suby model);
- Bosch 044 pump and Bosch 1000cc injectors (at 77% IDC now...) blowing into dual 48mm Jenvey TB's;
- BIG air-air intercooler and Aquamist 2d waterinjection.

and a lot of small things to make it work and last :wink:

That's Amazing! I don't get what it is about these T4s that make so much torque with such short strokes. Gotta be in the cam and heads I guess, but :shock: Is that 456.4 foot pounds?

Great Job!!

Google wrote:456 newton meters=336 foot pounds

Not bad for a 2.2, my 1915 makes ~170tq at half that much boost.

With that 66mm stroke I bet it revs up with the quickness! I want a T4 :evil:

Hi,
I don't think the short stroke has much influence on the power caracteristics. This engine was basically constructed out of the remains of my N/A 103x80 which blew a rod. Thats the only reason for the short stroke...
My preference would still be a longer stroke and a smaller bore! (and the next engine will have just that)

The only benefit I see with a larger bore is more valve surface possibility and better flow opportunity because of that.
The big torque is just tuning and boost :wink:

Matt! Great to see you around again! Hows it going? and when do you come over and do that Nurburgring lap with me? You're the one that inspired me to look into that in the first place, so I owe you a lap :wink:

Good numbers Wally :D
I have a 2160 T1 going on the dyno soon
with larger than normal cam and 044 heads
I'll be trying 3 turbos for comparison one of which
is a GT30 we can see what it makes at 20psi
