I took my air jets out and soldered all four of the lower holes in the emulsion tubes and closed up the 1.5mm air correction jet down to 1.25mm or so. I'm getting much smoother full throttle operation now and afr dtays at 12 to 13 on up to about 7 or 8 psi (maybe 4500 rpm?) and then it tips lean. I'm not sure if I should enlarge the main further or shrink the air jet further.
Its REAL close now and hauls ass.

I dont know if my added posts are helping or not, but I have my setup dialled in the way I want it for now.
I have dual kadrons, just like the original poster. The carbs are set up like this:
40mm throttle plates
30mm vents
47 idles
170-175 main (drilled, so not perfectly accurate)
1.0mm hole in the air correction jet
2 pairs of holes on the very bottom of the emulsion tubes soldered shut.
I'm using a TD04L turbocharger. Boost goal is ~10psi
I'm running a pertronix 034 copy with reduced mechanical advance such that idle is about 6 or 7 BTDC and full mechanical puts me at 24-25 BTDC.
The engine is 1776cc
AA cast pistons and cylinders
Cb2234 camshaft with 1.2 ratio rockers on the intakes
Forged 4340 counter weighted crank
Standard size Unitech rods
MOFOCO Rasser heads, 40x35
1.5" trimil baja style header
And I run about an 8.2 to 1 compression ratio.
I have the afr set up to run around 11:1 at full throttle and it slowly leans out to the low 13s just as I hit target boost and rpm. Sounds crisp and clean. I wish I'd done this years ago!

Here's what I have going on. It's very much a junk yard build. I have about 200-300 dollars spent on getting the turbo on there. That doesnt include all the gauges and such I had before adding in the turbo.

Yep
But when I built it I was still scavenging for muffler materials and I wanted to drive the car. so it went there. It reads fine, i'm just going to end up destroying it. Gotta find another bung somewhere... OH! I can make one! Just gotta cut some threads in some steel super beetle front end bushings rolling around my garage.

I simply plumbed boost to the bottom of my brosol fuel pump. My pump puts out a bit more pressure than it should but I lucked out and my kadrons have never cared except for during hard offroad climbs. I've been staring at this thing for a few days and I think the best way to fully equalize incoming pressure and float bowl pressure would be to run hoses from the intake to the top of the float bowls. I have extensions on my float bowls vents, but they point straight up. Incoming air shoots across the top of them which is probably reducing pressure in the float bowls.
I probably wont try it though because I've spent enough time on this project for now and achieved my goals. I would hate to run a line to the bowls and be RIGHT and then have to jet all over again!

What if you clamp a section of hose to the bowl vent and have it run into your charge pipe?

I thought I read somewhere that the steering wheel nut was the same.( M18 x 1.5 )

Yeah, I might try it. But then I have to start jetting all over again and I get so single minded that other things in my life get neglected. I wonder if they list "Aircooled Enthusiast" as a diagnosis in the DSM-5...
