Unfortunately no. Waiting for spacers. I was really hoping to get them here in the next couple days because I'm off work Thursday and Friday, but I haven't gotten an email that they shipped yet. I cut and built the push rods yesterday. Sometime this weekend I will seal up the case too, but until I get the spacers I'm stuck there. I may set the short block in the car too so I can go get some lines made for my full flow. May as well get that mocked up while I'm waiting.

I'm only putting .010" in it. I set it for zero lash when I measured. Should be fine. These are aluminum so I will set it for .006" when I install.

Awww man. Look what I just found. It's the oil relief plug. Not sure what happened. I will see what the engine builder thinks tomorrow. Hope I can save it.

Dang! That thing took a hit.
Though I’m sure it’s something an engine builder has seen before.

It's in the engine wash hot tank right now. I ended up having to come to work to finish something so I won't get anything done today besides the cleaning. Probably start assembly tomorrow.

Good save buguy.
Blow the case passage ways out with high air pressure, Keep doing it till your convinced there's no particles in there. Make sure the oil pressure switch thread is a good 1 before you build it

That's funny you mention the oil pressure switch threads! I had just run a chaser through them because they didn't look great right before I found this problem! Also pulled all my head studs to change them to chromoly, and one case saver unscrewed too. That will be a problem to tackle tomorrow.

Thats probably the best way. I don't have time to wait for more parts so I am going to get 2 nuts that fit it and use them as jamb nuts to turn it off of the stud.

It's less of a problem on a non 94mm bored case. Once cut though, walls are pretty thin there and often part of the saver is machined off as the case is decked. So now you'll have to clock it correctly when reinstalling.
A stock 1600 case shouldn't be a problem. Just run them back in, maybe even put a drop of loctite on them so they stay, and then have the case cut for the new bore.
