Really most of my trouble has been self inflicted. Just plan better than me!

I’m cash strapped so all I can do is plan and live vicariously through others builds.

All sealed up. I put in a 17.5 hour day yesterday so I took today off. We have a hurricane coming tomorrow, so a good part of my day will be spent prepping for that. If I have time I will bolt more stuff on er!

Looks good! Hopefully the hurricane doesn’t cause you to much trouble!

It’s slated to hit my area Tuesday.

I keep pretty prepared here. Put in hurricane shutters and bought a whole house generator last year. Just have to get everything all picked up and grab some food.

Virginia Beach.

I’m not sure it’s gonna be real bad once it gets here, but I’m doing clean up as well. Or that I have anything going on build wise. The beetle is still my daily

They are saying it's going to come closer now than they did earlier. Still a category 1 so far, so not too bad. I got some grub, and fired up the generator just to be sure. I also put the pistons and cylinders on the engine, so it's inching further forward. I will at least get the long block finished up tonight.
I also put the zero washers on the cam, so I will be running it straight up instead of 2 degrees advanced.

You think putting things in sealed plastic bags might be the safe thing to do? It would be a just-in-case thing to save $$$.

I don't think I will have any problems with water. We are up just a tad and have 3 storm drains right around the house. It's never even been close before. Never say never though. We do keep a dozen or so water right totes just in case. Some clothes, important paperwork, and special stuff of my daughters. It has always kind of been our bug out plan. 5-6 years ago they were calling for a bad one, so we packed up both vehicles and headed to tampa. Stayed a couple days and came back. Everything was safe when we got back and didn't even lose power. Luckily I'm on the same grid as the hospital so if it does ever go out we are about the first to get it back.

Got the long block finished. I'm not happy with the tin so I will have to do some work with that. The heads I got must be weird because the engine is a little wider now than it was but the cylinder tins don't even come close to meeting the case. I will still probably throw the long block in the car and make sure nothing is weird there. I guess I still need to put the flywheel on too and check the break away.
