Are any of you running vacuum pumps to ventilate your crankcase?
Currently I'm just venting to the atmosphere out of an oil filler tower and the distributor hole (running electronic ignition), but I feel like it could be better. Do any of you run vacuum pumps to help ventilate your crankcase?

I'm going to try and run mine being drawn thru a vacuum tee and sucked into the intake. I put some scotchbrite in the baffles to help separate the oil when its in vapor form(honestly never ran it without it) so it shouldn't foul any plugs. It doesn't show it in this picture but the top of the tower has a 90° 3/8 barb and so does the blocked off port on the tee. I am also doing this to keep the throttle at that 0-.5 turn out so I don't expose the progression ports(until I go efi(: )

I'd run one in a heart beat, if they weren't so expensive

Nate, are you using anything to regulate the vacuum leak?

Just the 3/16 barb fittings that are in each intake runner:) i don't have a pcv valve not sure if i need one or not but i think ill definitely need some kind of one way valve when boost is added to the mix:) something had to be done since the original crankcase ventilation system was disturbed with all the aftermarket crap.lol66brm wrote:Nate, are you using anything to regulate the vacuum leak?

I see what you are trying to do but I see issues with the execution, you are drawing air straight into your intake from the case without any form of control. Think efi and an idle control valve, it's a computer controlled vacuum leak, you may need to consider a needle valve/s or similar to get control of the case evac (vac leak)V8Nate wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2020 4:59 amJust the 3/16 barb fittings that are in each intake runner:) i don't have a pcv valve not sure if i need one or not but i think ill definitely need some kind of one way valve when boost is added to the mix:) something had to be done since the original crankcase ventilation system was disturbed with all the aftermarket crap.lol66brm wrote:Nate, are you using anything to regulate the vacuum leak?

Thats where a pcv valve would come in handy i would assume. Thanks Buguy
