That is very interesting. Does it have any casting numbers or symbols?

I bought a similar diff, does anyone know what it is? There is a preload system on the side gears.

Numbers in the casting are:
SL
Hale
B 324
15 15 100 11

ngobet i think we have stumbled upon the positraction diff. If this is the case and i think it is we have struck gold here. I am going to look at mine in detail on the Christmas break. I have a bore scope camera so i will be taking internal pics.

interesting, it is possible that it has the same internals as the Peloquin positraction type. Like on that page: https://www.gowesty.com/product/automat ... ferential-

There is no way that there is space for the spider gear / side gear assembly with the disc clutch type LSD in that housing, it looks the same as our diff.

Mine came from a workshop where they used to rebuild swiss army vehicles in the 80s-90s, it has to be a factory part.
I bought a bunch of LSD together and the rest is all factory ZF. Will have to research which LSD option was available for 091 back then

Yes i want to think that this is indeed a posi-traction diff from a military vehicle. I now need a 5speed 091 kit to build around this unit.
