You could do the crank trigger behind the front pulley so you don't see it. I think that this turned out great and I will probably be doing this in the future.

Oh man, the flywheel trigger is sweet.
Guessing the drawback there is you get no sensor adjustment, it all has to be "soft" when you change the timing, through programming?
I may do flywheel triggering for the Beetle... and I'm really thinking about doing it for the FOX now.
Bore a hole in the bellhousing, make a threaded plug, drill holes perpendicular to the flywheel's axis rather than parallel to it?

ok so currently machining my pulley.
im having the sensor at tdc+20' clockwise missing tooth at 70' or.... clockwise 90' tooth +1 tooth, missing tooth at 110.

woot

Can you balance it back afterwards?

Re: decisions ?! flywheel or pulley trigger?
yeah il have to get it balanced again but i think you can be able to work out the weight of the missing tooth and work out its distance from the center then drill the opposite holes accordingly, obviously there have to slightly deeper due to the holes being closer to the center than the missing tooth.
easier just to get it balanced i think lol

+1 its all about making the engine bay as simple as possible...Plus you know your be pulling the motor out regularly so id prefer not to be entangled by a rats nestwestypoo wrote:^^ holy mess!!! lol! ^^ i like the hidden crankfire trigger idea! ill be doing the same!
