Hello,
I still haven't finished my engine yet, but working on it. My question is about double thrust cam bearings. I have an extra set of cam bearings and was wondering if I should use both thrust bearings. And if so, how the hell do I make that notch in the bearing. I saw in HotVW's that they simply hit a hammer onto a allen key, but those things are hard as hell, and I couldn't make but a scratch.
Thanks,
Brian

Question about double thrust cam bearings.
Brian,
I took my case to a reputable machine shop that does only VW's and they installed the thrust bearing in my case. They drilled a hole in the edge of the bearing where it comes in contact with the case journal at an angle into the case so that it wouldn't rotate. They only charged me $20 to do it. If I were you that's what I would do. Hope that helps.
