Engine Case ID for '73 Thing

I have a '73 Thing (vin 1833024990) with a engine case code of "5545 AD-445622". This does not match the case types that I found listed for the Things (i.e., AH, AK, AE, or AM). Anyone know what this means? Possibly an aftermarket or factory replacement case?

I have a '71 Thing Vin 1812680456 with a Type 127 (47-3600 RPM) engine no BB1037935. This does not match the Engine Nos that I found listed for the Things (i.e., AH, AK, AE, or AM). Anyone knows what this engine is all about.

Type 127 were industrial/military engines.
