Desert Patrol Vehicle build 3 year adventure sort of.

Offroad VW based vehicles have problems/insights all their own. Not to mention the knowledge gained in VW durability.

If there was ever a buggy that needed to be licensed and driven is Kalifornia, this is it. I can just see people freaking out over that thing on the street
I don't always show my signature. But when I do, it's in this area.

That thing is awesome. I used to have a '75 Caprice Classic with a 400 c.i. SB in it that I had painted flat black and had all Mad Maxed out...roof rack, no muffler, etc. It got looks, but I'm sure nothing compared to what you'll get!

My original goal (3 years ago) was to get it street legal and drive it to work in the summer. Without the guns of course. I still have not been able to get the details on what i need to have on the buggy and i want to know before i pay $100.00 to get it inspected and get told i need to add x y and z and pay another $100.00 to get it reinspected. I also will have to submit a butt load of paperwork to get a VIN issued due to not having one. Some one said just use the serial number off of the engine. One of these days i will figure it out and hopefully not have to pay a bunch and be on the road other than driving around the block. Yea i agree driving this in Kalifornia would probably would get me some unwanted attention. Well at least they were used to these things in Sandeago sort of back when i was stationed there in the eighties. It was a good place to off road at the end of Orange Ave in Imperial Beach. Well thanks for the comments. More later.

Here you can see how i put in a parking break mount. Note the old cut off frame in the back ground.

Have you considered going to Arkansas or Texas and hunting hogs out of that buggy?
Since they are a pest animal the game warden won't care how you
take 'em out. Some farmers would probably even feed you for the weekend
just for helping 'em out.

BBQ and sweet tea....
...I'm all over it.

We have plenty of pest hogs here in Georgia so i do not need to go west. Around here we hunt hogs from the ground due to some reason about its illegal to hunt from a vehicle here. Even if i tried to justify the buggy as a mobile hunting stand i dont think that would go over well with the game wardens. It would be nice and also would not have to drag the hog out of the woods just cart it out in the buggy. Some of the hogs are over 200 pounds here. As for the weapons. No they are not real they are dummies and i made the dummy minigun. Thanks for the posts.

I know what you mean about getting it street legal, Here in Missouri you have to have a ton of paper work (I have it) But finding out the stuff to make it street legal is a royal pain in the A$$
I am still not too sure what I need to get it to pass, on a trip to the Highway Patrol they tell me that I need what every car has...ok I need a speedo....no you don't need a speedo...well every car has one....well you don't need one, but you do need a high beam indicator...OK so where is all this written down so I know what I need....they had me a 200 page book and the info is NO WHERE IN THE BOOK....this is going to be a pain....now I know why the buggies with VIN tags cost $2-$3000 more then the ones without.

Hot, humid air is less dense than cooler, drier air. This can allow a golf ball to fly through the air with greater ease, as there won't be as much resistance on the ball.
