Whats the latest and greatest on 4 inch bore heads.

Post by 3literboy »

I have a 90mm stroke wasser crank, flywheel and 2.1 liter case. Apparently 4 inch piston sets are cheap now. So all I need is a set of rods , and some 4 inch bore heads. Has anyone simply used the 2.1 liter heads for all out race? I figure it would last for the 1/4 mile.

Anyways, I tore apart the 88 by 101.6 and put a new cam in it. SLR 286 effective at .050. I also cut the comp step out and set the deck at .045 versus .150. So now instead of 8.5 to 1 C/R, I will be running 12 to 1 and 6 more degrees of cam duration. Hopefully this finally gets me into the 10s. If anyone is interested in a 2.1 liter case with stock crank and an extra DPR 90mm C/W crank, I will let it all go for $400l

I thought you had a set of Autocraft 910's? You can't get a much better platform to start with than that (outside of a solid block of aluminum); if they are not up to the task, send the heads and manifolds out for more port work.

BTW, the case/cranks are tempting, but alas I have no budget to take on a new project

No its not that, i want to build another Oxyboxer.

I just saw a head modification on a 2.1 liter head that blew me away. I am getting 46 by 40 valves put in a 2.1 liter head. Then have them cut for either 103mm Type 4 juggs or 101.6 mm jugs. I still have a 90mm wasserboxer crank from DPR. I just need a wedgemated flywheel, 5.880 inch rods, some 101.6 cyliners, and port the hell out of old 2.1 liter heads. Then just use off the shelf turbo parts for type one....

I just cut .115 off of my A/C 910s. I am using a copper .060 for a .045 deck. My compression ratio was 8.8 to 1 and ran 11.62 at 115. Now it will be 11.8 to 1 with a new .93 fourth instead of .85.... This should put me at 10.90

I want to build a 3 liter turbo oxyboxer with water cooled heads. I just need an argon bottle and some aluminum rod. I can use a brothers turbo header, t4 ,and 55dcoe.... I want to get 450 out of a 3 liter turbo.

The 88 by 101.6 is going together with a 286 effective at .050 and a 2stage bugpack oil pump............

I finally recieved my type 4 rear split bearing. Now I have to put the rockers together and make certain the pushrods are the right length still.

I think i will need a custom header to clear the 2 stage. S0, its another Als header....
