Hi

When I had a turbo WBX I took the oil supply from the rear most oil light switch with a T piece.

so you suggest give T piece beetwen sensor and hole. ( if i properly understand ).
Do you make any modification with engine for turbo, and how many PSI you serveto engine.
Do you betray mi what turbo you had.

Hi

I used a VDO T piece, which is actually hexagonal brass, I then ran a braided line to the turbo

My motor was a DJ, so stock it was 10.5:1, I dropped it to 8:1 using MV pistons with a bit more cut out of the cavity in the piston

I ran about 15 psi, I sold the car before it was properly developed.

Turbo was IHI RHB6.

Good day Steve,

I have a MV code engine and i recently bought some pistons to do a rebuild. Could i run a turbo on my engine without lowering the compression, i understand that the stock compression on a MV code engine is 9.0 : 1. I am thinking of using a holset HX35 turbo with low boost.

Hi Passatman

You should be able to get away with running low boost, there is probably more knowledgeable people on here that can tell you more on that subject. I also ran a water to air inter cooler and after market EFI.

The best simplified turbo conversion requires a mid 1980s Saab or Volvo turbo car with Bosch LH 2.2.
Install the whole system onto a stock MV waterboxer and it adapts perfectly without any glitches.
I have been running mine for about 1 year now and it gets better than factory milage and makes tha vanagon fun to drive. It peaks around 9 lbs of boost and even without an intercooler does not ping. Torque comes on pretty early in spite of my mild performance cam.
In fact, the original stock cam would have been smoother and worked fine.
The hardest part is removing the whole injection harness from the donor car and rerouting it to fit your vehicle. You must have the whole donor car. Wiring diagrams are on the internet.
The other part of the equation is fabricating the turbo exhaust and intake plumming. Keep your turbo high enough to drain back naturally. I put mine on the right side the of engine and fabricated my whole exhaust system.
